AUXILIA

Auxilia is built on the belief that organisations and individuals perform better when they understand conflict in its full context: political, military, historical, organisational and human.

Its perspective is shaped by the combination of military practice, academic research and policy experience.

The work behind Auxilia is informed by active service as an officer in the Royal Netherlands Army, multiple operational deployments and advanced military training. This practical background is complemented by doctoral research on state formation and insurgency, as well as publications and presentations on contemporary war, Russian strategic culture, the Russo-Ukrainian War, irregular warfare, military decision-making and leadership under pressure.

This combination allows Auxilia to bridge several worlds:

  • the field and the classroom;
  • military practice and academic analysis;
  • strategic theory and organisational application;
  • operational experience and professional education.

Auxilia does not offer generic commentary. It offers structured analysis, grounded judgement and practical translation for organisations that need to understand what war, conflict and competition mean for their own decisions, people and performance.

All work is conducted with discretion, intellectual independence and respect for professional responsibilities. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, views expressed in Auxilia activities are personal and do not represent the official position of any government department, armed force or public institution.
